As the officer who handled the adoption issue, Emily Jenkins (Renée Zellweger) is already used to see things that do not know many people. Domestic violence affecting many children are finally living in an orphanage he has always faced. But this case is the 39th number of special cases. Emily never knew how the end of this case.
Case number 39 is concerned a 10-year-old girl named Lilith Sullivan (Jodelle Ferland). Lilith's family was very secretive and mysterious, but that's not what Emily thought to be haunted. He was afraid that something bad happened to the little girl who is innocent. Suspected Emily seemed evident when one night Lilith nearly died at the hands of both parents. Emily thought that Lilith would be sacrificed in a ritual of devil worshipers.
No butter, Emily finally breaking the rules that he set himself, "Do not ever get emotionally involved." Emily Lilith then choose their own care until adoptive parents are willing to adopt Lilith. This decision turned out to be the starting point of terror that would soon face Emily. Lilith is not as innocent as a thought Emily. There's something evil inside of Lilith and it's too late for Emily to get away from Lilith.
Horror genre is always synonymous with the term B movie Movie berbujet aka low. Not many films of this genre that successfully captured the heart of the film critics who sometimes are too fussy. So, seeing big names such as Renee Zellweger, Jodelle Ferland, Bradley Cooper, and Ian McShane played in a horror film like this is somewhat surprising.
Renee's got a horror genre mengakrabi but later he started to go into drama films that are more 'friendly' Oscar. The result, he had won the title of best supporting actress by movie COLD MOUNTAIN. Bradley Cooper was not a bad actor. Although the game in The hangover did not until you get the Oscar, but this movie could say good enough.
Back to the movie Case 39. The formula is offered as a director Christian Alvart actually still 'adhere' standard formula for a horror movie. The basic idea to make people a little girl who should have the characteristics 'not dangerous' to be able to figure a monster who killed other people. Simple. The same pattern was also offered many films, including orphans and other Japanese horror film adaptation.
No one is right for a potion. Unfortunately, it seems Christian Alvart prefer to use tricks 'short surprises' rather than building tension slowly up to the peak. As a result there are only a short surprises that soon disappeared after the scene ends. Fortunately this film is saved by the 'business' four core players. Renee quite convincing as someone who is very concerned at the fate of Lilith as Jodelle was also good to play as a little girl full of mystery.
