The more days of civilization on earth more pathetic. Thriving technology while the noble values of religion began to be forgotten. People no longer see the value of religion as a relevant value. Modern technology have replaced them. God had decided it was time to clean the earth as Noah.
God then commanded his angels to come down to earth and destroy all mankind that the earth can be saved. New life will replace the old life which had experienced the decadence and no longer be saved. Led by Gabriel (Kevin Durand) the angels came down to do their job, but one of the angels who did not agree with God. Michael (Paul Bettany) considers human beings still have hope.
Michael was down to earth, not to the task from God, but to save mankind. The only hope he is if he can save Charlie (Adrianne Palicki). It is said that Charlie was pregnant with a baby who would become the savior for all mankind.
Futile. There are many big names attached as an actor in this film and everything went in vain. Paul Bettany, Tyrese Gibson, and Dennis Quaid as no room to show off their skills in acting. Can not blame it because this project itself is not too promising.
Actually the idea of basically not too different from the TERMINATOR though here that is not used as the background of technological progress but rather religious. Indeed there is nothing wrong with recycling existing ideas. During the script done right, director capable of directing while providing enough space for the actors and actresses to exploit their abilities, a simple idea can be a good movie.
The problem here is less tergarap manuscript. Many gaps in the script that makes one wonder whether the story about this logically. Not all films based on logic, but if the script writer can build a 'little logic' in the story itself and maintain its integrity will be acceptable logic Itupun audience. In addition, spoken dialogue that the characters must also felt awkward and strange. And it did not help the script that was already weak.
Looks like Scott Stewart also served as a director can not do much. Besides he himself has not had a lot of experience as a director, the script should he embodied in visual form it is not supported. If you have this, it is also true that Harrison Ford said when commenting that the movies are now much weaker on the manuscript.
